AARP and LivePitch Media on May 7 announced the 10 startup finalists for the second annual AARP Health Innovation @50+ LivePitch - which will take place May 31, 2013 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This premier showcase features the most innovative startup companies in the “50 and over” health technology and innovation sector.
As Jody Holtzman, AARP’s Senior Vice President of Thought Leadership put it: “127 excellent companies applied. This made for some tough decisions when it came time to determine the finalists.” Still, the advisory aboard came through and narrowed the field to 10 companies.

Further, only 21% of all health trackers, mostly young folk, do so with an app -- but note app participation of only 3% of those aged 50-64 and 1% of those aged 65+.
