BioSensics is excited to unveil its latest product, Frailty Meter

BioSensics is excited to unveil its latest product, Frailty Meter, at the American Geriatrics Society Annual Scientific Meeting this week in San Antonio, TX.

Frailty Meter is a portable system consisting of a wireless sensor that gets attached to the wrist during measurement, and a tablet computer to receive and analyze the data. Frailty Meter enables objective and rapid assessment of frailty based on a simple arm movement test. Unlike other approaches for measuring frailty, Frailty Meter does not require walking or self-rated health and activity surveys. Frailty Meter has a proven correlation to both the Trauma Specific Frailty Index and Fried Frailty Criterion.

Frailty Meter works by measuring arm movement during a 20-second elbow flexion-extension test. Based on the patient’s performance, Frailty Meter provides an aggregate clinical frailty score, as well as independent measures of weakness, slowness, exhaustion, and range of motion. BioSensics is excited to see the positive impact that Frailty Meter will have on pre-surgical decision making, discharge planning, and geriatric primary care.

If you are attending AGS 2017, we would like to invite you to visit our booth for a live demonstration (Booth #200). If you would like to schedule a meeting in advance please email Jackson Maier (jackson.maier@biosensics.com).
