Securus Launches New Version for BlackBerry and iPhone, Expanding Coverage Area

CARY, NC, October 18, 2012 – Securus, Inc., proud maker of groundbreaking mobile safety and security products, today announced the release of the company’s first-ever Android app for its eZoom and eCare+Voice products. The new app enables customers to use their Android mobile devices as a tool to keep loved ones and valuables safe and provides caregivers with added peace of mind. The company also released new versions of its BlackBerry and iPhone apps to expand existing app service to Alaska, Puerto Rico and Hawaii.

The Android app, which is available at Google Play free of charge to Securus customers, is a single app that enables users to find, track, view a location history and update settings for their Securus GPS locators, including eZoom and eCare+Voice. eZoom is a lightweight, multi-use GPS tracker that customers use to locate children, keep tabs on teenage drivers and secure and recover valuables, including vehicles. With the new Android app, eZoom users can set up the text and email notifications they receive when their child leaves a designated area (such as school) or when a teen driver exceeds a user-set speed limit and locate loved ones via sophisticated Assisted-GPS tracking capabilities in the GPS child tracking device.

Children and teens can instantly check in by using eZoom’s alert button, which quickly sends the eZoom’s location to their parent. With the app, eZoom users can also protect parked vehicles by remotely arming their car with a motion detector and anti-theft alert. Stolen vehicles can be tracked in real time with the mobile app or on a computer, and users can also view turn-by-turn directions on the mobile app for quick recovery.

eCare+Voice keeps seniors and loved ones with special needs safe while eCare+Voice connects to a 24/7 emergency call center with two-way voice communication for help anywhere.maintaining their independence. eCare+Voice gives users a way to speak to a 24/7 Emergency Call Center representative through the locator at the touch of a button to summon a personal emergency response from any location with carrier-specific cell service. With the new Android app, caregivers can use an Android device to keep tabs on their loved ones’ location anytime, and receive low battery alerts as well as notifications when an eCare+Voice unit is powered off. This enables caregivers to stay involved in their loved ones’ daily activities – even from a distance.

The Version 3.0 release for BlackBerry and iPhone extends the app coverage area for eZoom and eCare+Voice to Alaska, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. This enables users to access all app features from those areas. Android device users can download the new app for free at Google Play. BlackBerry users can access Version 3.0 at BlackBerry App World, and iPhone users can visit the Apple App Store to download the upgraded iPhone app.
