New Video Calling Device for Older Adults Arrives Ready to Go, Just in Time for Holidays

MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Oct. 27, 2026 Harten, a Morgantown-based company, has introduced
Harten Home, a video calling and family photo device for older adults that arrives already set
up, so the older adult simply connects it. Harten Home is available now at hartenhome.com.
Harten Home has two parts. The older adult receives a touchscreen device with high-contrast
text, large touch targets, simplified navigation, and clear audio. Family members download a
private app for iOS or Android to share photos, make video calls, and send notes and reminders
that appear on the device, and the older adult answers calls with one tap or a simple voice
command.

Only the people a family invites into its private circle can call or message Harten Home. That
gives older adults a safe, secure place to talk with family, free from scam calls and unknown
numbers.

One in three Americans ages 50 to 80 felt lonely in 2024, according to the University of
Michigan National Poll on Healthy Aging, and many older adults find the apps their families use
hard to navigate.

Co-founders Zach Wright and Mike Green started Harten after watching people they love
struggle to stay connected. Wright saw his grandmother struggle with technology, and Green
watched his mother-in-law have trouble making video calls on her mobile phone and feel distant
from family.

“Most tablets are built for people who already know how to use them,” said Zach Wright,
co-founder of Harten. “Older adults end up with a device someone else has to set up, update,
and troubleshoot. We built Harten Home so that work happens before it arrives, and all an older
adult has to do is connect it and answer when family calls.”

Harten Home is available now at hartenhome.com, and families can connect it together over
Holidays. The device is on sale for $199.99, down from its regular price of $250, and service is
$19.99 per month, with billing starting once the device arrives. Every order comes with a 60-day
money-back guarantee.
