AFrame Digital Enters Consumer Market with Reseller AtGuardianAngel, Inc

Newly redesigned product debuts at Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show

January 5, 2011, Reston, VA and Austin, TX.  Mobile health services provider, AFrame Digital, Inc., is moving into the consumer age-in-place market with its non-intrusive personal health monitoring system previously only available to healthcare facilities and military hospitals. AFrame Digital’s next generation mobile health monitoring watch will be offered through a reseller agreement with AtGuardianAngel a national company that specializes in age-in-place products and services.

“The AFrame Digital monitoring system is the perfect enhancement to AtGuardianAngel’s My Guardian™ system. We provide products, services, and information that allows seniors to stay in their homes while offering peace of mind to their family and caregivers,” says Ed Caracappa, President and CEO of AtGuardianAngel, Inc.

The AFrame Digital personal health monitor is similar to a sports watch and is part of AFrame’s advanced mobile health system, which combines real-time data capture over wireless networks with predictive analysis and alerting of important changes in a person’s health and wellness status.  “We’ve always envisioned this product for home use supporting seniors and at-risk individuals including those with compromised health and mobility functions with the ability to stay at home where they are most comfortable and happiest,” says AFrame CEO Cindy Crump. “We’re excited about our agreement with AtGuardianAngel. They are a recognized leader in the industry and provide outstanding content and advice on a variety of elder and memory care needs. They understand how the AFrame system can support the goal to live more independently and safely.”

AFrame’s FDA-cleared, standards-based system also supports data captured from a variety of commercially available FDA cleared wireless medical devices – such as weight scales, blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters, self-assessment health surveys and blood glucose meters -- for an all-in-one health and safety solution. “Changes in any physiological data can signal the need for immediate care, making intelligent, personalized alerts an especially valuable application for patients managing an illness or recovery from injury outside the hospital,” Crump says.

AtGuardianAngel will be providing the watch and monitoring system sales and set up for the home user and will work closely with caregivers to show them how to use the system.

The watch includes an impact and falls detection system that automatically sends an alert to loved ones in the event of a fall or indication of instability. No button needs to be pressed. The watch also includes an emergency call button that can be used by the wearer to alert loved ones and caregivers of a situation requiring immediate attention. Other features include activity and behavior tracking so caregivers can be alerted to a decline in activity and personal baselines. Wireless routers are plugged into available electrical outlet in rooms where you wish to monitor activity. You can even utilize the wireless routers outside the home to monitor activity outside the home.

“This system truly frees seniors and families from the worry of what happens if there is a medical need,” says Caracappa. We’ll be showcasing this product at part of our My Guardian™ service at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show Booth 2827 North Hall.
