Essence New Voice Panic Detector Gives Seniors Verbal, Hands-free Emergency Access

Tel Aviv – July 11, 2016 – Essence, a leading provider of IoT, cloud-based connected living solutions, demonstrated its new Care@Home Voice Panic Detector last month at a series of global telecare and security events. The VPD is the first product in the industry to employ voice recognition technology to give seniors two-way access to emergency response via a simple vocal command.

The VPD with Intelligent Voice Activation™ provides seniors with a voice-activated option that responds to a help word if there’s a medical emergency and they can’t physically access their units.

Using the recognized help signal conveys to the monitoring center that the person needs medical attention. The two-way system allows the monitoring company to communicate with the client directly to determine the level of required assistance.

A mere month prior to its official market availability, the VPD won ESX’s Innovation Award in the PERS category, the second time running that a product from the Care@Home Elderly Monitoring Platform has won this award.

VPD is integrated into Essence’s entire range of Care@Home Elderly Monitoring Platform solutions. It provides a particularly valuable enhancement to the Care@Home PERS+, a personal emergency response system that allows seniors to maintain their independence in place. With on board intelligence, residents’ privacy is ensured by vocal analytics being processed locally with no data transference to the cloud.

“We’re constantly seeking ways to refine and enhance our Care@Home offerings, especially since peoples’ lives depend on it,” said Haim Amir, Essence founder & CEO. “Such a robust, reliable system promotes independence while providing peace of mind to both the subscriber clients and their families, while offering distributors a product that’s a cut above the rest.”
