Fast growing in-home care company marries cutting-edge technology with superior in-home care

(New York – July 23) Hometeam, a fast growing company providing in-home care for older adults that will change the way Americans experience in-home aging, today announced it will open 15 new offices in nine states in the next 12 months.

Headquartered in New York, and with four offices currently in the Northeast, Hometeam is led by CEO Josh Bruno, who founded the company when his family struggled to find a caregiver for his 93-year old grandfather, and Harry Heymann, the former senior vice president of engineering at Foursquare.

Hometeam has developed software that intelligently matches families with experienced caregivers, connects families to their loved ones through the use of mobile technology in the home, and helps caregivers plan days that improve the quality of life of older adults.

“Over the last 24 months, we’ve helped older adults live more comfortably and happily in their own homes,” says Bruno.  “At Hometeam, we imagine what a perfect day looks like for each of our clients and make it come alive with a combination of great mobile technology and the nation’s best caregiving team. As we grow, this marriage of technology and high quality in-home care will revolutionize our industry.”

Hometeam’s board of advisors features some of the country’s top  healthcare executives, including April Anthony, CEO of Homecare Homebase and Encompass Home Health; Jeff Kindler, venture partner at Lux Capital and former CEO of Pfizer; and Bryan Sivak, former CTO of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services.  The company raised $11M in 2014 from backers Lux Capital, IA Ventures, and Recruit Strategic Partners.

“Hometeam is poised to reshape the $80 billion in-home senior care market, which today has a largely fragmented workforce and an underserved customer population who may not always receive a quality product,” says Adam Goulburn from Lux Capital, a primary funder. “Hometeam understands its customers’ needs and the complexities of the marketplace, and is genuinely committed to making a difference through carefully selected caregiver-client relationships and great technology.”
