AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 4, 2026: LooopApp LLC, an Austin startup, said today that its Looop app already sends the kind of aging-parent alerts a public company is still promising: families hear when a parent's sleep, heart rate, activity, phone use, or spending looks different from their usual routine, along with severe weather alerts in more than 50 countries and nearby crime alerts in all 50 US states. Looop is a safety notifications app for families who care from a distance, built by an independent startup that answers to families, not advertisers. It sends a heads-up when a loved one's day looks different from their own routine, so families know when a call is worth making.
Mom's winter at her place in Florida, Dad's wine tour in Italy, a semester abroad in Spain: Looop's alerts work wherever they go.
In October 2025, Life360 CEO Lauren Antonoff discussed on Fox Business how the company is exploring features for aging parents. On its Q4 2025 earnings call in March 2026, the company said it was working on devices for aging parents but did not expect to launch them that year. On its Q2 2026 call in August, it named aging parents as a next line of business. And at a Goldman Sachs conference in September, it said it is working on services for aging parents, including wellness features, scam protection, and emergency response.
Looop's aging-parent alerts are already here. Looop launched on the App Store in May 2026 and has shipped new features and updates steadily since.
Most family apps are built around a map: they answer "Where is she?" Looop answers the question families actually ask: "Is Mom okay today?"
Looop takes a holistic approach to family care: weather, crime, spending, health, fitness, activity, and the shape of her day, in one place. No more checking the weather in five cities, a location app, a health app, and a banking app to piece together how Mom is doing.
Where she is: a heads-up when she arrives at a hospital or ER, a police station, or an airport, and a map for when you need it.
What's around her: severe weather in more than 50 countries and nearby crime in all 50 US states.
How she's moving: steps, walks, and workouts, through Apple Health and devices like Apple Watch, Oura, and Whoop.
Her health: heart rate, breathing, and sleep, from the same devices.
What's changed: walking, driving, time spent in one place, phone use that's higher or lower than usual, a phone left untouched for hours, and unusually large spending on a linked account, which can be an early sign of a scam.
Each day, all of it comes together in one answer: a Typical Day, or an Unusual Day that might be worth a call.
Every loved one joins Looop by invitation and decides whether to add Health & Fitness sharing or link a bank account.
"We built Looop because our own families are spread across the country and around the world. We're Gen X, looking after kids in college and aging parents at the same time. We don't want to track them. We want them to keep their independence, and we want to know when it's time to call, so we're ready to help," said the team behind Looop.
