Austin startup’s iPhone app helps people know themselves and each other better through conversations, journaling, photos and shared memories
AUSTIN, Texas — October 18, 2026 — NeverGone, an Austin-based startup founded by Ryan Kelley, today announced its unrestricted public launch. Its iPhone app is now available on the App Store with a free tier and optional NeverGone Premium subscription. No invitation code or waitlist is required.
NeverGone calls its social app the Living Persona Network. Users build a personal AI Persona through conversations, journal entries, photographs and memories, then choose how to connect it with people they trust. Each Persona is an evolving, interactive reflection of the experiences and perspectives its owner shares.
“We can know what someone posted today and still know very little about who they are,” said Kelley. “I built NeverGone because I believe people are ready for something more meaningful. I want us to ask better questions, share more of our stories and understand each other while we’re here to do it.”
Users can begin with a conversation, a photo, a journal entry or a Discover You question, even before their friends join. They can explore their own stories through conversation with their Persona and decide what others can discover.
People in a user’s network can contribute memories and perspectives. The Persona’s owner reviews each contribution before deciding whether to add it. In NeverGone’s Updates feed, connected users can discover shared moments and, with permission, ask one another’s Personas about the stories behind them. Those discoveries can give people something new to ask each other about.
“No one builds their story alone,” Kelley said. “The people around us remember things we’ve forgotten. They see parts of us we may never think to describe. Bringing those perspectives together can help us know ourselves and each other better.”
The idea began when Kelley thought about the conversations he wished he could still have with his late father. After more than three years of development, it has grown into a product focused on the living: a way to capture stories, values and perspectives that rarely make it into a photo album or social media profile. The stories people share throughout their lives can also become something meaningful to pass on.
Users choose what stays private, what they share and who can connect with their Persona. NeverGone includes a free plan. Optional NeverGone Premium provides higher text chat and voice limits through an auto-renewing monthly subscription.
