Vivify Health Awarded Patent for Extending Remote Care to Your Television

PLANO, Texas, Sept. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Vivify Health, the pioneer remote care via mobile devices, has been awarded a patient for its methods of engaging and monitoring healthcare consumers through their existing televisions. The patent is the first awarded among six highly innovative digital health patents submitted by Vivify Health. This patent further expands the capabilities of the Vivify Pathways platform to utilize the largest screen in a patient's home, in addition to Vivify's existing Managed Kit, BYOD and IVR solutions.

Vivify was founded in 2009, with televisions intended as a core consumer experience from the very beginning.  Since that time, Vivify has presented various television experiences at events such as HIMSS and American Telemedicine Association. These demonstrations have showcased how patients of any age can easily accomplish a remote care session through their television using a basic remote control, and incorporating wireless biometric devices, health surveys, educational videos and virtual visits with their providers.

"The consumerism of healthcare is happening at a much greater pace than most have anticipated.  Vivify continues to remain at the forefront of this transformation, with innovations that engage patients anywhere, including where they work, play and rest," says Eric Rock, Vivify's CEO and Founder.

He continued, "For most of our aging population, the television remote is the most familiar and comfortable device in the home. We are thrilled to have this patent awarded as an excellent example of healthcare consumerism."

Today with Vivify, the smart phone is all you need for remote care.  However, the patent uniquely enables Vivify to extend remote care from a consumer's mobile device to any second screen.  As mobile devices become more powerful, displays such as desktop monitors and televisions are rapidly becoming "big screen" extensions to the smart phone.  With this new capability remote care is not only available anywhere, it will soon be available on virtually any screen.

This patent strengthens Vivify's intuitive innovation core and differentiation.  As the Vivify Pathways platform continues to evolve, additional innovations such as integrated smart watches and wearable sensors will continue to carry Vivify into the future.
