VRI and Robert Bosch Healthcare, Inc. to extend access to telehealth technology to help treat patients with chronic illnesses.

Dayton, OH (PRWEB) November 10, 2010

VRI , one of the largest providers of in-home health monitoring solutions in the United States, announced today a new partnership with Robert Bosch Healthcare, Inc., a leader in the telehealth industry. Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly offer customers access to VRI’s remote monitoring, equipment logistics, adherence, and alert stratification services along with Bosch Healthcare’s telehealth systems, including the Bosch Health Buddy® Telehealth System. The partnership will extend access to healthcare technology that empowers patients to be more involved in their care and enables providers to better monitor and treat patients living with complex chronic disease.

“The use of telehealth in America’s health care system continues to increase, and there is a growing body of evidence that supports the use of technologies like the Health Buddy System, allowing patients to take a more active role in their disease management,” said Derek Newell, president of Robert Bosch Healthcare. “By leveraging VRI’s extensive experience, installer network, and monitoring center capabilities, we will be able to extend the reach of Bosch Healthcare’s telehealth solutions to more patients and further our mission of transforming the current system of care.”

Bosch Healthcare and VRI’s joint services are designed to increase patients’ health awareness and accountability by giving them access to information and feedback that allows them to play a more active role in their care. Specifically, the Health Buddy system will be integrated with VRI’s feature rich remote monitoring platform that serves as a daily interface between individuals with chronic illnesses, care coordinators and healthcare providers. As care providers access user data via VRI’s Care Platform, they are alerted to warning signs if a user’s health is deteriorating and can actively address gaps in care before that individual’s condition becomes critical.

“Bosch Healthcare shares our dedication to providing high-quality care to people living with severe and complex chronic diseases,” said Andy Schoonover, CEO of VRI. “We have heard our Managed Care, Home Health, and Hospital partners loud and clear. They have asked for a fully integrated system where they are relieved of the burden to install, finance, and provide the alert stratification required for effective deployment of telehealth solutions. We are proud to add the Health Buddy system to our portfolio of integrated devices and are excited to partner with Bosch Healthcare to provide telehealth solutions to patients that will benefit most from these services.”

Over the past two decades, VRI has served hundreds of thousands of seniors and at-risk persons with industry leading health monitoring solutions. The company is committed to being a partner with healthcare organizations to assess, deploy and manage remote monitoring technologies.
