WellAWARE Systems Announces Partnership with Heatherwood Retirement Community

Wellness Monitoring Technology Installed to Advance Quality of Care for Seniors

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WellAWARE Systems, the leading developer of next-generation wellness monitoring solutions for senior care providers, today announced its partnership with Heatherwood Retirement Community. Heatherwood is a provider of assisted living community, offering retirement living that is highly focused on personal care. The deployment of WellAWARE Systems’ wellness monitoring technology has been successfully initiated at Heatherwood Retirement Community, located in Burke, Virginia.

“Heatherwood is excited to partner with WellAWARE Systems,” said Susan Green, Administrator of Heatherwood and Board Member of the Virginia Health Care Association. “One of Heatherwood’s primary goals is to enable our residents to stay independent in their own apartments by providing the service and support they need. We expect the WellAWARE system will prove to be an effective tool for our nursing staff to employ to allow our residents to successfully age in place.”

After implementing the WellAWARE monitoring sensors in the Heatherwood residents’ homes, the caregivers are provided with wellness data analyses based on the residents’ behavioral trends, such as daily eating, sleeping, cooking activities, etc., via the secure WellAWARE Web site. Heatherwood caregivers now use the WellAWARE Web site analysis to promptly identify and care for any existing or developing health conditions of their residents, as well as urgent situations such as disabling falls. As the ongoing use of the WellAWARE technology has repeatedly been proven to increase the quality of personal care delivery while also reducing the cost of senior care overall, Heatherwood believes that the WellAWARE technology will be instrumental in providing Heatherwood residents with the personalized care and continual peace of mind that they deserve.

“We are very proud to partner with Heatherwood Retirement Community as they continue to offer their residents a remarkably high level of personal care and attention,” says Jeff Noce, CEO of WellAWARE Systems. “Heatherwood consistently demonstrates a commitment to providing wellness and dignity to their senior residents and their recognition of WellAWARE is a strong testament to our belief that innovative monitoring technologies are an essential component of high quality senior care communities.”
