Power Up 2019 Assistive Technology Conference and Expo will be held on April 1st & 2nd in Columbia, Missouri. Registration is now open at www.at.mo.gov.
Intended Audiences: Special education teachers and administrators, general education teachers, parents, students with disabilities, transition coordinators, occupational therapists, speech therapists, paraprofessionals and other interested parties.
Through sessions, exhibits and demonstrations, the Power Up Conference showcases assistive technology for all ages and all disabilities, with a heavy emphasis on assistive technology for anyone who is aging in place.
Sessions of particular interest to those Aging in Place and related professions include Real Time Text, Relay for those with hearing loss, speech loss, or combined vision and hearing loss, Android and Apple accessibility, remote supports, makers AT, Wolfner Library, are just a few of the over 35 sessions presented by leading regional and national assistive technology experts.
This year’s conference opening features CC Rhythm, a dynamic musical group composed of young Missourians with disabilities. Acclaimed professional speaker Kelsey Tainsh will provide the conference endnote. After overcoming a stroke at only 5 years of age, Kelsey’s world came crashing down after a second stroke at the age of 15 left her paralyzed with fear and self-doubt. Her story is one of persistence and perspective.

The cost of the two day conference is $265. One day conference registration is also available. Register by February 1st for the early bird rate and save $55.
