AtGuardianAngel launches Digital Media division.

AtGuardianAngel, Inc. (AGA) announced today that it has formally launched its Digital Media division. AGA Digital Media is focused on becoming the leading source of online information for Aging in Place, described as elderly persons remaining in their own homes for as long as possible, with assistance. Current web properties include http://www.issueswithaging.com, http://www.issueswithcaregiving.com , http://www.issueswithalzheimers.com and http://www.issueswithdementia.com.

AGA Digital Media delivers timely, unique and credible content relevant to the issues that matter for Aging in Place as well as conditions associated with aging, caregiving, Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. This material is distributed through web properties as well as an “Issues With” weekly newsletter. The company also maintains a blog at http://www.issueswith.com that delivers related commentary on Aging in Place.

With this announcement, baby boomers with a surviving parent or parents that currently live in their own residence now have targeted online portals to visit. These provide up-to-date information on keeping their loved ones healthy, happy and secure without having to move to an assisted living facility. The first of the boomers will turn 65 in January, with a birthday every eight seconds (AARP). This is in conjunction with the fact that 62% of this age group says that they spend more time online now than they did three years ago, and there has been a 923% increase in Boomers on Facebook since 2009 (The Journal on Active Aging, May/June 2010). This generation is online and is looking for details about Aging in Place.

“We’re not just regurgitating other people’s content,” said Ed Caracappa, President and CEO of AtGuardianAngel, Inc. “Instead, we have decided to seek out writers with an expertise in this industry to develop our own branded message that’s significant to our readers. We continue to aggressively recruit a staff of writers and editors that can produce the highest level of accurate, fact-based, applicable information to create and foster awareness about all that’s required to successfully Age in Place.”

Laurie Orlov, founder of Aging in Place Technology Watch, an industry analyst firm, has sized the market of technology-enabled solutions as a $20 billion market by 2020. She notes, “Aging in Place is what the boomer demographic wants for themselves and for their parents. AtGuardianAngel’s website focus is directly in the zone of critical issues.”
