Each month brings new offerings into the marketplace. Or getting ready to enter the marketplace by launching a pilot or other announcement. As is often the case, new offerings include AI enabled tools for connection and or fall prevention. This month brings an unusual addition – a guide to Humanoid Robots from RobixOne. And further, patenting Balance as a vital sign (!). Here are five announcements from September-October, 2026:
Kindable. Kindable announces the launch of Loved, a mobile app designed to help families support aging loved ones living independently at home. At the heart of the platform is "Claire," an AI care assistant who calls seniors every day and engages them in natural conversation, while the app provides caregivers with meaningful updates, wellness trends, and actionable insights – all without requiring new devices. Porchlight. Porchlight today announced that Porchlight, a life-story and family-connection tool for assisted living and memory care communities, is live and free for communities during its pilot period. A resident taps one large button on a tablet, hears a question about their life read aloud, and talks. Porchlight transcribes what they say, chooses the next question from what was just said, and turns the conversation into three things a building could not produce by hand: a Know Your Resident briefing so a new aide can connect on their first shift, a morning digest of story highlights for the activity director, and a private page where the resident's family can listen and record a reply in their own voice. RobixOne Smart Guide to Humanoid Robots. An independent review publication covering consumer humanoid robots, home robotics, and the future of AI-assisted living. RobixOne was launched in 2025 to bring honest, research-driven coverage to the rapidly growing humanoid robot category. Much of the internet still treats humanoids the way it treated electric vehicles a decade ago, impressive demos, ambitious promises, and very little practical guidance for real buyers. Stridemind. Stridemind today released the full version of its fall prevention app for adults 55 and over, now on the App Store for iPhone. The app trains balance through dual-task walking. The user walks while an audio coach leads short mental tasks, such as counting backward or naming things in a category, so the phone stays in a pocket for the whole session. Learn more at Stridemind.
UpRight Science. UpRight Science today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has registered BALANCE: THE SIXTH
VITAL SIGN®, marking a milestone in the company’s work to bring greater awareness to balance as an essential measure of health. UpRight Science’s FDA-cleared clinical software uses sensors built into smartphones to measure balance objectively and track changes over time. Learn more at UpRight Science.
