Aging in place technology
I've enjoyed reading your blogs, especially about technology to assist seniors to age in place. As an occupational therapist and for years an advocate of assistive devices and technology for disabled and elderly people, I found your recent article citing the profit motive on the part of the manufactures dishartening, yet true. I recently published a book on caring for an elderly parent, in which I suggest that living at home alone or with minimal care is possible with the use of some of the new (and future) micro computer technology. Lets hope we can come to a balance in "profit" and caring for the elderly. Read more about DAD'S HOME ALONE, Caring for Your Elderly Parent at www.dadshomealone.com.
